Linwood School New Childcare Centre and Exterior Renovation

About the project

The renovation of the existing Linwood School to create a new childcare facility required both interior and exterior upgrades to ensure a safe, functional and welcoming environment. The interior renovations transformed the space into specialized areas for the daycare, incorporating essential features like a kitchen, washrooms, and dedicated play areas. To enhance safety and create an inviting atmosphere, CPI utilized child-friendly finishes throughout, including non-toxic paint, durable flooring, and soft surfaces in the play areas.

The renovation also included installing proper ventilation, lighting and safety systems to meet local building codes and regulations for childcare centers. Upgraded mechanical and electrical systems were implemented to support the various functions of the new daycare. The exterior renovations included secure fencing, outdoor play areas, and improved access points, fostering a cohesive and safe environment for both learning and play. These enhancements aimed to provide a high-quality, compliant and sustainable childcare space that meets the needs of children and staff alike.

A significant aspect of this renovation was the replacement of the foundation access stairway, which improved accessibility and safety, ensuring the building met current building codes and safety standards. This change was crucial to providing a welcoming, secure and functional environment for children, staff, and parents, while also preserving the structural integrity and usability of the facility for years to come.
